While Kris and Dick were at the scrapbook show we used the minivan (with the DVD player) to drive a few hours to the Hill Cumorah. We were pulling up in the parking lot and Troy noticed a missionary couple getting out of their car as well. It turned out to be Troy's old bishop (the one who helped him with his mission call) they were the mission presidents there. It was neat to meet them and thy told us where to go.

Next, we went to the Joseph Smith Farm. It was really neat to see the fields that they cleared and worked. Not to mention the small cabin they lived in until they built the larger house (behind us). I still don't know how they fit all of their kids in there.
The planted this tree when their son Alvin died. Beautiful!

The fireplace where Joseph actually hid the plates at one time.
The new temple.
My favorite part was the sacred grove. It was more beautiful than I remember it being. It was so quite and peaceful.

We also went and saw the Whitmer farm, and the printing press they used to make the first book of Mormon.
Later that night Troy, Kailey and Dick went swimming in the hotel's pool. The water was SO COLD! I ran on the treadmill and Kris watched/fed McCall.
