Ahoy! Brandley Family Reunion

Last weekend my parents and my siblings had our annual Brandley Family Reunion. The best part was it was PIRATE themed! So all of the activities we did were based on the theme. The first night we got there we made pirate hats and paper dolls with our pictures on the top. We ate dinner and then went to play "Marshmallow War" (which is steal the flag...but you have to shoot the other team using mini marshmallows and a one inch PVC pipe). It was so much fun. After the game we went back to grandma and grandpa's house and watch Black Beards Ghost and had a sleep over.ARRRRR!!! The next day the captain (Grandpa) surprised the deck hands (grand kids) by taking them on a treasure hunt.Although the reaction wasn't quite like he expected. ALL OF THE KIDS WERE TERRIFIEDNone of them would come near him...some even cried. When they finally realized it was grandpa they agreed to follow him on the treasure hunt. They began with a clue attached to a (chocolate) gold piece and followed the clues around the house and yard...
Until they found the "Treasure Chest"
Which was filled with all kinds of goodies!
It's a good thing the captain was willing to share his treasure.

Kailey didn't care what the captain had for her...she wanted nothing to do with him until he had changed his clothes and washed off the beard.
Kailey really loves her grandpa...as long as he isn't dressed like a pirate!

Here is me in my pirate outfit...
I don't look as intimidating with the big belly though.
Troy even got into the Pirate spirit. We didn't get a picture of him in his hat, hook, and eye patch though. Oh well you will see it for Halloween.Of course my sister Michelle and I had to get in a "belly shot" She is due three weeks ahead of me.
These are my parents and siblings (minus one brother who is on a mission to Korea).

What a big girl!

We were finally able to take the gate off of the stairs. Kailey loves to go up and down. Her favorite game is when Daddy goes to the bottom and she can throw balls at him. He makes noises and acts like it hurts when the ball hits him and Kailey laughs really hard. As soon as he comes home from work she points to the stairs and says "Ball!"

Willow Park Zoo and Hyrum Dam

We got invited to spend the weekend with some neighbors and camp at Hyrum Dam. Some of us went a little early and took our kids to the Willow Park Zoo.

Kailey loved the monkeys!

Mostly she loved running around with her friend Ashley.

It is a small zoo but it was still a lot of fun!

Then we meet everyone at Hyrum Dam. The kids loved playing in the sand (mainly rocks).

We ate good food, went for boat rides, and relaxed. Troy, Kailey and I went and slept at my sister Michelle's house while everyone else camped (sleeping in a tent just didn't sound fun at 7 months pregnant).

We came back the next day and did it all again. Hyrum Dam isn't the most exotic or beautiful place but the campground was nice and we had a great time.

Whistle, Whistle, hey good looking! Nice tan line ;)

Davis County Fair!

We went to the Davis County fair with some friends (the Hogues and the Woods) we walked around, at some good food and then it was off to the RODEO! It was so much fun until the Clown came. The clown was going around dancing with a bunch of girls in the crowd (unknown to me Troy was waving to the clown to get him to come over and dance with me). Thankfully the music ended right after he got to me and I didn't have to dance in front of everyone with my big pregnant belly. Troy did get a well placed elbow when the clown told me I was lucky I got out of it and that Troy had waved him over.

Our friend Justin and his son Andrew were the only ones who could stay late enough to watch the RODEO with us.

Kicked out of his office.

Troy finally relented and gave up his office so that we can move Kailey in to it and the baby into the nursery.Unfortunately the only place for him to go was to the dungeon (AKA the basement).Troy was a really good sport and put up bead board for me.

We put a chair rail on top and I painted it all the same color of white. I am trying to find some cute bedding and then I will find some paint that matches for the top half of the wall.

My birthday!

My mother drove all the way down from Logan to go to breakfast with my grandmother and I for my birthday.
It meant a lot to me to get to spend time with these two wonderful ladies.
Troy got a babysitter and took me to dinner at my favorite resturant (Red Lobster) and then we went to a movie (we have only been to one movie since Kailey was born...so it was a nice treat).

Troy also bought me a mountain bike for my birthday. I am sure I will get more use out of it when I am not pregnant, but I have enjoyed little rides around the neighborhood.Kailey also got a new bike this week...although she would rather push it around than ride it.
