Christmas was so much fun (except for this)!
We had a fun time with Kailey opening up presents in the morning. My in-laws came to our house a little later and then we headed up to Logan. I love the holiday because I get to see family...but this year I only go to see some of them through one eye!
I was playing a game with my family at about 5:30pm and my little girl was sitting on my lap. She was squirming and flung her arms in the air. Her finger nail jabbed me right in the eye and man did it sting...the only problem was that it kept stinging for hours afterwards. I couldn't even open it without a lot of pain. We headed home and called an optometrist (?) that we know. He recommended going to the ER and getting it looked at...but mostly to get some antibiotics. He said that because it was her finger nail (which is usually dirty on children) there was a high chance of infection. He also said that because it was over the colored part of my eye that it was more serious than over the white part.
Anyway, to make a long story short we spent Christmas night in the Emergency Room and my in-laws were nice enough to take Kailey home for us and put her to bed (my father in law even shoveled our driveway)! My eye is feeling better today but I was told to rest it as much as I could so I have been walking around with one eye closed most of the morning. Needless to say that you lose a lot of your depth perception when you only use one eye...so I have been tripping over a lot of things and feeding Kailey her oatmeal this morning was hilarious (maybe a little payback;).
Oh well, such is life. I hope you all had a great Christmas!

Copy Cat!

Well, this is what comes from looking at other people's blogs...I turn in to a copy cat!
I was looking at the Hulse Family blog and they had the funniest videos from jibjab.com . I followed the link and made my own videos. The only problem is they are clear down at the bottom of my blog...so scroll down (oh and push pause on the music player first) and push play on the videos. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did ;)
P.S. Make sure you have your speakers on!

Time for a change.

Well I thought it was time for a change...so I got brave today and chopped my hair and added some high lights. I had to take a picture to document what it is supposed to look like (Brandee Keddington in my neighborhood cut and styled it for me). It will be interesting to see if I can copy what she did. I am hoping that with this style it will force me to actually do something with my hair. I knew I needed help when I couldn't remember if I had put my hair in a pony tail or braids the day before ;) LOL!

These are a few pictures of Kailey and her first snow storm. Michelle Markham helped me figure out how to put music on my blog (thanks Michelle) so I thought I would play one of my favorite Christmas songs "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas" by Bing Crosby to go along with these adorable pictures. I really hope that this year we will have snow for Christmas. Its always seems so anti-climatic when there isn't any snow.

YIPPPEEEE! Kailey slept through the night! Troy put her to bed while I was gone to young womens at about 8:00 pm. She woke up around 10:30 pm but went right back to sleep after I gave her her binkie and "Mrs. Bear" (she loves to sleep with "Mrs. Bear" right up against her face or over it). She woke up at 7:30 am!!! Wow, I had almost forgotten what it was like to sleep that long ;) It was wonderful. I hope that is the first of many nights.

Brown Sugar Queen

I was making dinner a few nights ago and I accidentally left the "lazy suzann" open. This was the result. Kailey had a blast though. She was sitting there playing when all of a sudden I noticed that she was really quiet....I turned around and she was sitting on the floor with her back to me. Her hands were flying between the ground in front of her and her mouth. LOL! I ran over to see what she was doing and found the BROWN SUGAR bag open in front of her. She was eating it as fast as she could. LOL. hahahaha I have never seen her arms move that fast! It was all over her face and clothes. What a mess! I couldn't even get mad I was laughing too hard!

..the farmer in the dell..

Troy and I were farmers for Halloween. Kailey was our first prize pea pod. I love Halloween and the Fall. It is my favorite time of the year! Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas too, but I am not a fan of the COLD!

Kailey's Halloween Costume

I know this is a little late but I just couldn't help posting this adorable picture of Kailey in her Halloween Costume.
Initially, I had planned on making one because the costumes I found on line were close to $35. I later found this costume at Albertsons for $10! So not only is it cute but I got a killer deal as well! She didn't like it very much because the legs are sewn together and she was just learning how to crawl then. Infact this is one of the few pictures of her NOT crying ;)

Well, I had to take a minute and thank Breea Dunn for helping me with my background. If you all check out her blog...I kind of copied it. Thanks Breea!

I also have to tell you that Kailey clapped her hands for the first time today during sacrament meeting. It was the most adorable thing she has done yet! I can't believe how big she is getting. I have been trying not to feed her at night in the hopes that soon she will be sleeping through the night!!! Last night she slept from 10:30 to 5:30! (By the way, that is good for her).

I can't believe how many people I have talked to that have their Christmas shopping done already! I need to get going. I only have 4 presents bought (but they are already wraped and under the tree ;)

amazing race

This is our Amazing Race application video.

Here is one of my favorite picture ornaments! I modge-podged (or however you spell it) the picture onto some cardboard, then embossed silver around the edges. I love how they turned out. I think in the future Kailey will love to see herself on the tree.

I am so excited for Chrismas this year. I don't know if it is because it will be Kailey's first Christmas, or that I have a really good list of gifts for Troy....or maybe it is because of my new beautiful Christmas tree (that Troy let me decorate however I wanted)!

Last year we had a 3 1/2 foot tree ;) ok maybe it was 4 feet. It looked really silly underneath our vaulted ceilings. Although it was wonderful in all of those apartments we lived in....it was time for a change. Troy's family has a tradition of getting a new ornament every year and putting it on the tree...and needles to say he has a lot! I on the other hand came from a home that often switched between a "homemade" and a "fancy" Christmas tree. Therefore.....this year is my turn for a "fancy" Christmas tree. Troy was a little more than reluctant...but I soon won him over with the red, black and silver decorations accompanied by black and white photos of us and Kailey!

I love it and it completes our room.

Well, I did it. I gave in and started my own blog. I loved looking at everyone's blogs so I thought...why not! Someday I will figure out how to use it...but today is not that day ;)
