First Sunday at Church

Today was our first day back to church since McCall was born, so of course I had to take pictures of my beautiful girls in their dresses. I love having girls!!!

Thanksgiving 2008

Thanksgiving is a drawn out holiday for us. My mom's side gets together the week before for dinner and visiting/games. There has been a baby explosion this year. This picture is of all of the babies born this year (or that will be born). Starting from the right (the oldest) Miley Iverson 1 year (and her mom...my cousin....Kristy), Josh Thatcher 8 months (and my sister Emily), Ethan Jackson 5 months (and my sister Amber), Jade Weeks 1 month (and my sister Michelle), McCall Parkin 2 weeks (and me), Ava Norseth 1 week (and my cousin Sheri), and baby girl coming in December (and my cousin Stacie). My sisters and our babies. It will be so fun having cousins so close in age.Thanksgiving morning Troy spent building a tower out of EVERY PIECE of Kailey's Lego's. LOL!too bad the tower didn't last long ;)Thanksgiving dinner was at my in-laws. The food was amazing! Troy even made pecan pie (his favorite). You are so domestic honey ;)

The day after Thanksgiving we went to Mendon (by Logan) for my parents and sibling party. Again yummy food, good company, and lots of kids everywhere! That night all of the girls (and my mom) went shopping together. We hit our favorite stores (Deseret Industries and Ross). Then we went to Shoe Carnival and I got a great pair of black stiletto boots. Yes! It was so nice to get a break from the kids. To trade off Troy got to go fishing Saturday.

Thanksgiving is slowly rising on my "Great Holiday" list. I still like Halloween and Christmas more (and my birthday...which is a HOLIDAY...just so you know). Anyway, it was nice to sit back this year and think about the things I am grateful for...

My wonderful husband, my two beautiful and healthy girls, my own home, my extended family, and in-laws, this wonderful country and the freedoms that I enjoy, and for my friends! I realized that I take a lot of things for granted. This Thanksgiving has helped me prioritize my life a little more.

Mommy's little helper

Kailey LOVES to push McCall in the swing. Unfortunately, she isn't always SOFT.
She is either really helpful or throwing a fit.

Thankfully McCall is a very calm baby and doesn't mind the abuse she recieves.

McCall finally got to meet her grandpa Brandley (He has been out of the country on business for a few weeks)

Morning routine

Hanging out in bed in the morning. The first thing Kailey wants to do in the morning is go see "Baby Call" (McCall).

More tv than ever before...dang it!

Wow! life is so busy with TWO kids. I have been so exhausted. The combination of sleep deprivation, hormone changes, recovery, and still trying to keep up with Kailey and all the house chores has me just hanging on by my fingernails. Unfortunately, this has been the result...
Poor Kailey has been watching a lot more TV and movies then she EVER has before. She even tries to turn them on by herself. Thankfully she really loves McCall.
Kailey is the only one who gets ready during the day...McCall and I stay in our PJ's until at least 3:30 pm.
Kailey is still my little sunshine (I just wish that she had a little less energy).

McCall is here!

McCall Ashlyn Parkin is FINALLY here!Tuesday the 4th I had a Dr. appointment at 9:30am. I was only a 2 so they stripped my membranes (not fun!) and I started cramping before I left the parking lot. The Dr. told me she did what she could but it would most likely only cause me to cramp and she scheduled me to be induce on Friday. Well, by 3:45pm I was having REALLY painful "cramps". I called my sister Emily and asked what the difference between a cramp and a contraction felt like. She said "Why don't you time them?". They were coming every 2-3 minutes! Anyway, to make a long story short we got to the hospital at 5:30pm I was at a 4, I got my epidural (blessed invention!) and pushed through ONE contraction and had her at 8:23pm. She weighed 8lbs 4 oz and was 20 3/4 inches long. She has lots of dark brown hair like Kailey did...in fact she looks just like Kailey (I will have to post some comparison pictures later). We are both doing well (besides adjusting to nursing and sleep deprivation). The proud papa!Happy Mama!
Going Home!
It was so fun to have visitors. Rachel Hogge was working Wednesday and came to see us. My Brandley grandparents and in-laws all came to see us at the hospital. Then my Bloomquist grandparents, my mother and my younger sister Michelle (who just had her baby girl) came to our house. My mom stayed the night and helped me the next day (Thanks Mom). This is a picture of my sister and I and our baby girls (McCall and Jade are exactly 2 weeks apart). It will be so fun to have cousin's so close in age.

Little buddies already!Great grandma and grandpa Brandley
Great grandma and grandpa Bloomquist My wonderful Mother-in-law baby sat Kailey for us while we were in the hospital (and she came and took Kailey from 10:30 am to 4:00pm Monday so I could get some rest). Thanks for your help Kris. You are amazing!

Kailey was excited to see a baby...but she had no clue that baby was coming home with us.

Kailey's face says it all. LOL! "I don't know about this"
Kailey has been pretty happy to have McCall around...except when she wants my attention (which always seems to be when I am nursing, changing diapers, or going to the bathroom). She has thrown more fits in the past couple of days than she has in the past couple of months! That has been the hardest part for me. My energy level and patience are shot...poor Troy gets "Kailey duty" whenever he gets home.
Kailey just wants to hold and kiss McCall ALL THE TIME, but she also has a runny nose and cough. It is really hard to tell her "No, don't touch the baby" when I think this is an important bonding time for them. On the other hand I do not want McCall to get sick. I have high hopes that they will soon be little buddies. I am glad that Kailey is being so helpful and sweet to her little sister...it can be a little too much help at times though. ;)
