Big Green Thumb and little green thumb

As many of you know, Troy loves to work out in our yard, and Kailey loves to go with him. I watched her follow Troy around in circles for about 20 minutes Sunday morning. Troy will go around and "dead head" all of the old flowers...and Kailey can't see why it is Ok for daddy to pull the flowers off when she can't. LOL! sometimes she will crouch down really close to the flowers like she sees her dad do. It is really cute to watch them interact. Kailey if you only knew what a great dad you have!

Some of the fruits of Troy's labors...fresh strawberries! We blended some of the up... and had a really yummy dinner of waffles, strawberries and whipped topping!

Kailey loved the strawberries, but she liked the whipped topping even more. She would scream for me to dip her waffle into the whipped topping and then she would suck it all off and hand the waffle back to me. It was cute at first but soon turned into a problem when she wouldn't eat anything but whipped topping.

Thanks honey!

Youth Conference!

As a Laurel advisor I was pleased to be able to help with Youth Conference this year. It all started with a early morning hike to Adam's Canyon. Troy and Kailey decided to come with me.

This is our group about to hit the trail head. Everyone had plenty of water and sunblock.Brother Rampton told us the history behind this canyon (it was named after his great-great grandfather) He then related it to our theme which was "We did this for you" (it was focused on our ancesters and the legacy we will leave behind). We also took a break and had lunch. Yummy!Still Hiking...Are we there yet???Yes we are! What a beautiful waterfall! The mist felt so good.Oh how cute! Luckily Kailey fell asleep on the way down.on the home stretch... After the hike we went and set up camp at Cherry Hill (brutal, I know ;)We couldn't get into the park until 4:30pm so we played a lot of games.
Then we went swimming! (Sorry I didn't take any pictures)

Then we came back and ate a yummy dinner and of course...played more games. The kids seemed to like "murder in the dark" the best (probably because they got to hold hands;) Bishop had to come over and keep and eye on them. We had some amazing food! Thanks Rhan! Young Women's Leaders (Laurie, Natalie, Me)
More Games! Time for bed. I think Natalie and I stayed up talking way longer than any of the girls did!

What Your Fridge Says About You

You aren't greedy, but you don't really deprive yourself either. You strike a good balance with the stuff you buy.

You tend to be a fairly thrifty person. You splurge occasionally, but you're mostly a saver.

You don't tend to be a very adventurous person, but you do surprise everyone now and then. You have a bit of a wild side.

You try to be responsible, but you don't always succeed. Your heart is in the right place though.

You are likely single - and a workaholic.

Zoo Day!

Troy and I always enjoy going to the zoo, and we were hoping that Kailey would enjoy the distraction as well. She was good for most of the trip... Elephants
Giraffes FYI: the red cheeks are mainly from the temper tantrum she was throwing before we went into the Giraffe building...
What was the temper tantrum about? Oh, she wanted to push her stroller, ALL BY HER SELF!
The bird show was really good! Troy knew the main host and talked with him afterward. Kailey sat pretty well for the show. I would recommend going to the show. Very entertaining!

Later we cooled off with some yummy Ice cream!

Messy but good. Then we decided to try the "Endangered species" Carousel ride. Kailey didn't like the Eagle very much so we tried the...the..."thing"but when that didn't work out we tried the wolf...
Kailey was shaking and crying...she didn't like the ride like we thought she would.
and the temper tantrum continued...
and continued... We finally gave up and headed home...Kailey fell asleep 5 minutes after we left the zoo. Next time we will make sure she takes a nap FIRST! Other than the drama, we had a fun time.

Baby Girl!

We are having another GIRL! Troy didn't get his BOY this time around (but I think there is a special place in every dad's heart for his little girls). Mainly we were glad to hear that she looks healthy and normal. It seems like you hold your breath for a few months until you find out that they are OK. It is always such a relief. We must be doing ok, if Heavenly Father trusts us enough to send us another one. Well here is to princesses, dresses, tea parties, dolls, and DRAMA (wish me luck)!
