Big Sister!

Now that we have told our families it is safe to tell everyone else. Kailey is going to be a big sister! We are really excited...but a little shocked. It took us 6 months of charting and trying and worrying to get pregnant with Kailey, but this one was much easier. It is weird to think we will be a family of 4!
Our new addition will be coming on November 1st!
Sorry to all of you who I lied straight faced to ;) but I know you will forgive me.

Birthday cake

Here are some pictures of the cake I made for Kailey's birthday.
Just in case you can't read what it says I will blow it up for you!

I brought it out to show all of my In-laws and at first it seemed like no one quite got it. My mother in law was in shock because now all of the girls are pregnant and she will have 3 new grandkids this year!
Debbie is due in June, Tonya in August, and me in November!

Birthday Party!

We had all of the Parkin family over for Kailey's birthday party last Sunday night. Kailey liked opening her presents but quickly got distracted and wanted to play with them instead of opening the rest.
She loved the Big purple ball from Ty, Debbie, Shawn, Kyle and Nick.
and the "Belle" (from Beauty and the Beast) doll from Chad, Tonya and Robby.
But her favorite was a special doll that Grandma and Grandpa Parkin gave her.Grandma Parkin spent hours and hours making a beautiful dress for this "Kailey Doll". It is exactly like the one she helped me make for Kailey's blessing. It means so much and was so thoughtful. Growing up I had a porcelain doll that wore my actual blessing dress and I only got to play with it on special occasions. I am glad that she will have one that she can play with often. She spent a long time playing with the baby's eyes. They close when you lay the baby down...and open when you sit the baby up. She was fascinated. She carries the baby around and gives it kisses.
Heidi Stott helped me make a cake (I will post some pictures later) and we let Kailey eat her piece with her hands. It made such a mess but I think she liked it.
Happy Birthday sweet heart!

Yummy!

Kailey has been such a good eater. We took her to her 1 year check up and the Dr. said she will mainly be eating normal table foods now. I am hoping our luck hasn't run out and that she will like what I make as well as the baby food. I think it will be nice because it won't be as messy;) Even covered in Sweet Potatoes she is still adorable!

Animal Print?

I know, I know...I have never been a fan of animal print but I have to admit I thought this outfit was adorable. It is a cute little jean jacket edged with fur and tan pants that match. Kailey's hair is a little crazy...but lets pretend it was part of the "wild" theme ;) Kailey loved to play with the fur on her sleeves. She just sat there and twirled it in her fingers.

Not a baby anymore!

Yeah for Kailey! You are one year old tomorrow! This was one of my favorite photo shoots of you. We were just playing in the living room when I told you to give Daddy kisses. You walked right over and puckered up. It was so adorable so I had to go and get the camera. You are starting to follow simple instructions very well, for example: "Give that to me", "Go find Daddy", "Can you give me kisses", etc.

Kailey's New swim suit

Grandma and Grandpa Parkin bought this new swim suit for Kailey a few weeks ago. I know it is still cold outside but I had to try it on her. It is so cute! I wish I looked that good in a swim suit. I can't wait to take her swimming this summer.

March Birthdays

This is me and my sister-in-law Debbie last year. It was so fun to be pregnant at the same time and compare notes.
Now Kailey and Nick are both ONE YEAR OLD! Nick was born on the 1st and Kailey was born on the 13th. It is amazing how fast time flies! Happy Birthday you two!

A better way to eat Fruit!

Being in Young Women's has caused me to step out of my comfort zone many times. Me and another leader (Heather Jensen) were assigned to make an edible centerpiece. We found some pictures and did the best we could. It turned out beautiful and YUMMY! So here are a few pictures of our masterpiece. Buquet

It makes me hungry just writing about this ;)
