Aloha 2

The second day we went on a snorkeling adventure. Thankfully they fed us breakfast when we got there. Our hotel charged a Million dollars for breakfast so most days we found somewhere else to go...but this day we didn't have time. The water was so blue...it looked fake.
This is a little island called Molokini. The boat took us out there and we got to snorkel by this big crater. It was really pretty, but really crowded as well.Next, we headed over to Turtle Town (which is a spot where turtles like to hang out). I had never swam with Turtles before. It was really neat. Too much sun for Troy. He had to go inside the boat for some shade. He burns really easy and neither of us wanted to get a sunburn on our second day. They served us a really yummy lunch and were getting close to some dolphins but they swam away before I could see them up close. Troy said they were playing and jumping out of the water. Oh well, maybe next time.

I guess I should mention WHY we are headed to Maui. One of the business Troy orders blinds through (BDD) gives away trips as rewards for selling so much. They are putting us up in a really nice hotel for 6 days 5 nights. Thanks for working so hard Honey! A picture of the coast just before we landed (boy was I glad to get that flight over with)!

The amazing gift basket that was left in our room. It had candy, chips, granola bars, bottled water, a lava lava for me, a pop up cooler, chocolates, banana macadamia nut pancake mix, a bobble head Hawaiian dancer, key chains, sun block, and tons more! Thanks BDD. We felt really spoiled.Our Submarine ride the next day.

It made me want to go scuba diving...seeing all of the neat stuff at the bottom.

We saw fish, reefs, and even a shipwreck (that was kind of creepy), but thankfully no sharks!

This is the Banyan Tree. I wish I had gotten a better picture of it. It was one large tree that covered an entire block. The branches grow up and then swoop back down to earth and make another "trunk" and more branches come off of that and it continues out from there. It was really neat to see, except there is basically a "shopping mall" of vendors underneath. It kind of took away from the majesty of it all.

These were the carvings at the entrance to the LUAU. Troy got us preferred seating so we had the best seats, and we got to eat first (I know I have a great husband). Hey and you might not think eating first is important but when you are pregnant it is really appreciated.

Here it is.

I am sure if I could figure out how to style it...it would look better, but I like it so far. Troy told me the other day that it was too big (he was right LOL!) I looked like I was from Texas (or at least Ogden ;) After it settled down it wasn't so bad. I think I am just used to seeing it slicked back in a pony tail. The bangs have actually been really fun and they are long enough they stay out of my face (most of the time).



Here is to being brave...and having a great hair stylist (thanks Brandee)!

Hair issues!

I am getting my hair done tomorrow...the only trouble is I can't decide what to do with it. I went to http://www.dailymakeover.com/ and they let you upload a picture and then try different hairstyles, colors, highlights, lowlights, makeup, jewelry, etc. This picture was the closest I could come up with to what I want. The highlights aren't the right color, but I love the different part and the long bangs. The picture on the left is my "Before" and the one on the right is the "After".

I would love to hear everyone's opinion (not that I will listen to any of you LOL!) You can all rate it on a scale of 1-10. If you rate it a 1 it is terrible and you hate it, or if you rate it a ten you Love it! Be honest! I need some help.

May Day

I grew up in a tiny town called Mendon. It is nestled on the west mountains of Cache Valley (opposite Logan). Every year they have a May Day Celebration. It is a really OLD custom that comes from...Sweden or Denmark or somewhere. Anyway, all of the girls (grades 1st -5th) dance around a May Pole. There are color coordinated streamers hanging down from the pole that the dancers hold on to as they dance and sing. At the end of the performance the pole has been braided. It is really neat to see and the girls are all so cute!

Another neat aspect of the celebration is that all of the Junior girls in the town are in the Court. One girls name is drawn from a hat and she is the Queen of May (my older sister Emily was queen a few years ago). Each girl chooses an escort (from the junior boys) and there is a dinner and dance on Friday night, and then they are presented to the town on Saturday morning, right before the younger girls dance the May Pole. This year my youngest sister Heidi was in the Court. She looked beautiful and it was fun to go up and support her.

Total Green Thumb

Troy has a new addiction. He has really gotten into working in our yard lately. He brings home some new plants almost everyday! He has learned all of their names, where they should be planted and how to take care of them. One of his favorite things is walking around our yard and seeing how much they have grown. Here are a few of our new favorites.


Oh yeah, did I mention he has a little apprentice that loves to "help" daddy when he plays in the dirt. Kailey would follow Troy around all day if she could. She has developed quite a taste for dirt, grass, and rocks ;)
