Kailey's New swim suit

Grandma and Grandpa Parkin bought this new swim suit for Kailey a few weeks ago. I know it is still cold outside but I had to try it on her. It is so cute! I wish I looked that good in a swim suit. I can't wait to take her swimming this summer.

March Birthdays

This is me and my sister-in-law Debbie last year. It was so fun to be pregnant at the same time and compare notes.
Now Kailey and Nick are both ONE YEAR OLD! Nick was born on the 1st and Kailey was born on the 13th. It is amazing how fast time flies! Happy Birthday you two!

A better way to eat Fruit!

Being in Young Women's has caused me to step out of my comfort zone many times. Me and another leader (Heather Jensen) were assigned to make an edible centerpiece. We found some pictures and did the best we could. It turned out beautiful and YUMMY! So here are a few pictures of our masterpiece. Buquet

It makes me hungry just writing about this ;)

Oh the things I take for granted! Like my refrigerator. We had quite the adventure a few thursdays ago. I opened our fridge to get a snack and nothing was cold. I thought "maybe I didn't close it all the way a while ago". So I closed it tight and came back 30 minutes later...Still WARM! Troy and I ended up taking what food we could salvage to our neighbor's fridges (Thanks Justin and Rachel, and Casey and Kysha). We finally got it fixed the following MONDAY! It drove me nuts not to have MILK, EGGS, CHEESE, etc. at my fingertips. The only good thing that came out of it was we ended up going to Rodizio Grill for dinner on Friday night with some friends (Thanks Brandy and Justin, and Jessica and Tommy)! It was so YUMMY!
Anyway, we found out the blower was frozen over, so the cold air couldn't circulate from the freezer below to the fridge above. The repair man came and used a modified hair dryer to melt the blockage. Now it is working great! I barely made it 4 days with out a fridge...I am so glad I wasn't a pioneer!

Up Date on Kailey

It has been a long time since I have up dated all of you on Kailey's condition. After that miserable week she started to improve. She was healthy for about a week until Troy got sick...and now Kailey is sick again. I think she just wants to be like her Dad ;) Anyway, Troy has a pretty bad sinus infection/cough and Kailey has a bad cold. I am crossing my fingers that I don't get either.
I can't wait for warmer weather and the "sick" season to be over!

Valentines

Nothing else forces you to go on a date like Valentines Day. Luckily our ward did a Dinner and Dance the day after Valentines because not much happened the day of. Troy was a really good sport and even dance alot! We both had a great time (thanks to my sister-in-law Tonya for watching Kailey). It is so nice to go out and have a good time with your hubby with out your child sometimes. Troy and I did the Cha Cha, Waltz, Penguine waddle, and some line dances!
I even got brave and did my own hair!
I put on my dancing shoes...
...and a dress I borrowed from my sister.
Troy said it was one of the funnest ward parties he had ever been to! It was fun to get dressed up and do something different.

To top it all off...

Kailey has had a runny nose and slight fever for a few weeks and when she started to get a cough (which led to gagging and then throwing up) We took her in to the Dr. He took a good look at her and listened to her lungs and told me "She has RSV." "Actually the RSV has turned into Bronchiolitis (which he told me was when the smallest tubes of the lungs get inflamed and collect mucus) which is why she was coughing so much. Any of you who know my little girl know that she doesn't hold still for anything! These past three days she has just sat and watched TV with us or snuggled. In a way it has been nice, but not worth the discomfort she has gone through.

The Dr. told me she should be getting over the worst by now (Friday) and that this weekend she was supposed to have improved. WRONG!!! She actually got worse. She started vomiting at least three times a day and kept rubbing her ear. She was so cranky! Troy and I took her to the Insta Care Sunday night. The nurses were great but the Dr. didn't have very good bedside manners. I was already on edge as it was and she made it sound like it was my fault that my daughter was so sick. Anyway, the Dr. very rudely told us that Kailey now had TWO ear infections, and gastroenteritis (which she blamed on me because I took her to the pediatricians two days before and that is most likely where she got it from). GRRRRRR! They gave us some Pedia-lite for Kailey (because she hadn't kept anything down for close to three days by now) and an antibiotic for the ear infections. We took her home and she actually slept through the night. Today she was about the same except that she finally ate and kept everything down. YEAH!!!
She started feeling good enough that she even smiled and wanted to play with her toys so I let her walk around and play when suddenly I heard a BAM! and a scream. I rushed over to Kailey who was on her stomach on the tile floor by our front door. She was crying and blood was dripping from her lips. She had tripped and landed on her stomach and bit a big chunk out of her lip. She was also bleeding from her gums. She stopped crying as soon as I picked her up but all I could think in my head was "What would the crabby Dr. think of me now?"
So Kailey has officially had the worst week of her life. Not only has she had severe respiratory, intestinal, and ear problems but to top it all off she now has a cut and swollen lip!
