To top it all off...

Kailey has had a runny nose and slight fever for a few weeks and when she started to get a cough (which led to gagging and then throwing up) We took her in to the Dr. He took a good look at her and listened to her lungs and told me "She has RSV." "Actually the RSV has turned into Bronchiolitis (which he told me was when the smallest tubes of the lungs get inflamed and collect mucus) which is why she was coughing so much. Any of you who know my little girl know that she doesn't hold still for anything! These past three days she has just sat and watched TV with us or snuggled. In a way it has been nice, but not worth the discomfort she has gone through.

The Dr. told me she should be getting over the worst by now (Friday) and that this weekend she was supposed to have improved. WRONG!!! She actually got worse. She started vomiting at least three times a day and kept rubbing her ear. She was so cranky! Troy and I took her to the Insta Care Sunday night. The nurses were great but the Dr. didn't have very good bedside manners. I was already on edge as it was and she made it sound like it was my fault that my daughter was so sick. Anyway, the Dr. very rudely told us that Kailey now had TWO ear infections, and gastroenteritis (which she blamed on me because I took her to the pediatricians two days before and that is most likely where she got it from). GRRRRRR! They gave us some Pedia-lite for Kailey (because she hadn't kept anything down for close to three days by now) and an antibiotic for the ear infections. We took her home and she actually slept through the night. Today she was about the same except that she finally ate and kept everything down. YEAH!!!
She started feeling good enough that she even smiled and wanted to play with her toys so I let her walk around and play when suddenly I heard a BAM! and a scream. I rushed over to Kailey who was on her stomach on the tile floor by our front door. She was crying and blood was dripping from her lips. She had tripped and landed on her stomach and bit a big chunk out of her lip. She was also bleeding from her gums. She stopped crying as soon as I picked her up but all I could think in my head was "What would the crabby Dr. think of me now?"
So Kailey has officially had the worst week of her life. Not only has she had severe respiratory, intestinal, and ear problems but to top it all off she now has a cut and swollen lip!

Oh Sarah I am so sorry! That sounds horrible. I hate when Kennedy is sick it is so hard, and she has never been THAT sick. Let me know if you need anything.

You poor thing, poor Kailey! I had no idea that it was so bad! Is there anything that you need, can I bring dinner or something? Nothing is worse than having sick kids. Let me know what you need!

Wow, I'm so sorry you are going through that with her! I feel your pain with the Insta-care. After they almost killed Jake (literally) I decided to boycott them. I really haven't ever had a good experience at one of those! I'm glad to hear she is perking up! Audrey had RSV when she was 3 weeks old. She spent 5 days in Primary's. Talk about guilt! I know you are a great mom, and it is NOT your fault that she is so sick!!

Poor little thing! It's so heart breaking when little ones aren't feeling well. I can't believe that doctor got mad at you for taking her to a pediatrician! What were you supposed to do! Well, I hope she starts feeling better soon.

I am sorry you and Kailey had to go through this. I think the hardest thing to do is watch your kids when they're sick and not be able to do anything more than you've already done. You're a great mom!

Kailey looks so pathetic in her pictures. I'm glad you are human and that Kailey finally got some illnesses. It makes me feel better about my children's poor health. I'll give you my mother's advice...if you just washed your hands more, she wouldn't get sick. Ha!
