Mom's 50th Birthday/ Little Red Ridinghood

My mom turned 50! We planned and executed a surprise Hawaiian Luau for her. There was a great turn out and we had a lot of fun. The funniest part was that she had to clean her house for it (only she didn't know the REAL reason). They are trying to sell their house and so my Dad had the real estate agent tell my mother that someone was coming to look at their house that night. LOL! I think she forgave us in the end ;) Anyway, happy birthday mom. We love you!

We had some great decorations, backdrop, flower lei's and FOOD.

Kailey, RoseAnn, McCall, SarahKailey loved all of the games and even wanted to join in on the hula hooping contest.Grandpa and KaileyPart of the crowd that came for the open house. ALOHA!!!
That same weekend was my bike race in Cache Valley. It was called the "little Red Riding hood". It was really neat because it was ALL WOMEN and the proceeds went to breast cancer research. It was really awesome to see some of the women who had overcome breast cancer and those who were riding for their friends/family who had it. Unfortunately we didn't get any pictures that day but I did take a picture of my number.

It was such a beautiful ride (it went right through my home town twice). The conditions were perfect and I rode A LOT better than I thought I would. Thanks to my friend Mary for talking me in to the training/race, and for Sara Saunders for letting me borrow her amazing road bike (it made ALL the difference). Overall we rode about 62 miles (with rest stops and a yummy lunch) in just under 6 hours. I felt great and think I could have pushed myself more, but I was happy with the experience. Although, I did fall (while standing still at a rest stop) and hurt my wrist it was well worth it. I am just glad I won't have to get up at 4:45 am to go train anymore!!!
