Trip to McKay Dee

Tuesday night I was having contractions every 2-3 minutes from 7:00pm-11:30 when we went to sleep. They were painless so I wasn't too worried. At 2:00 am I got up to go to the bathroom and I couldn't feel the baby move. I tried multiple things to get her to move (poking her, changing positions, walking laps around the house, drinking juice and a candy bar and laying on my left side, etc). Nothing made her move...so of course I got really worried.

We called a neighbor (Thanks Amy I owe you) and took her a monitor to listen for Kailey...then we headed to the hospital (at 3:00am) to make sure the baby was all right. We got to the hospital and quickly learned that the baby was just fine and she started moving like crazy. It was such a relief!

The nurse confirmed that I was having consistent contractions so she checked me and I was still a 1. She called my Dr. and (knowing my history of fast labors) she said to have me "walk" around the hospital to see if I would dilate. 1 hour and 20 minutes later they checked me again and NO CHANGE! So they sent us home around 6:30am. DANG IT! I have still been having contractions all day (more like 5 or 6 minutes apart and still painless). We will see what the next couple of days bring. If I don't go on my own I am scheduled for an induction on Wed. 29th (if my cervix is dilated some more). If it isn't we will wait and see if I will go on my own.

I was so sure you were having a baby! Sorry!! It is no fun to go into the hospital, when you come home still pregnant!! Hopefully you will dilate more and have the baby next week!!

You gotta keep telling yourself "It will EVENTUALLY happen!" You will eventually have this baby and eventually have your body back!! "Eventually" is the word I used most during my pregnancies!

Oh man Sarah - I know exactly how you feel! At least you know your baby is okay, that is all that matters. I got sent home with Parker because I didnt dilate fast enough, even though I was having regular contractions - so I totally feel your pain. Good Luck!
